Studying at HTWG Konstanz

Why Germany?

Now that you have decided to study abroad, you know that the benefits are boundless. Not only is it a great opportunity academically, but students who go abroad have amazing experiences, make long lasting friendships, and learn to see the world from a new perspective. Now comes the task of choosing where to study.

What is so special about studying in Germany? There are countless reasons why Germany, in particular the Hochschule Konstanz (HTWG), is an amazing place to experience living in a foreign country. First of all, German is one of the most predominant languages in Europe, German speaking countries include Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Austria. This area of Europe borders almost every globally significant country on the continent including France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, and Denmark. As a member of NATO, the WTO, the EU, and the UN Germany is a great world power as well as one of its most highly industrialized countries. The language proficiency and the knowledge of the German culture that will come from studying at the FHK will give students a step up in the international community.

The city of Konstanz is located in the southernmost part of Germany on the Swiss border. The Hochschule Konstanz campus is situated along the bank of the Rhine River, close to the historic center of the city of Konstanz (Constance). The 3,800 full-time students at the FHK are taught by 130 full-time professors. There are also 100 qualified instructors whose main employment is in industry or administration and who lecture in courses relating to their professional expertise.

The HTWG Konstanz has a wealth of experience in international cooperation and exchanges, and is a partner in 42 formal university exchanges in 22 different countries. Some 450 international students from over 50 countries are enrolled at the HTWG, and each year approximately 500 Konstanz students decide to go abroad to complete part of their studies.

The HTWG offers Bachelors and Masters programs in 24 technical and professional fields, including Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Business Administration and the highly competitive fields of Applied Communication and Culture.

For international students wishing to study at the Hochschule Konstanz, the following options are available:
